Locations

Rehearsal Location – The Málaga Centre for Modern Music and Arts (ELCAMM)

ELCAMM is a private institution dedicated since 2014 to eclectic musical education (both non-formal and official), as well as to the production and promotion of cultural activities related to music. The Centre trains musicians of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced Higher Education studies. It adopts a cutting-edge and groundbreaking approach to teaching, based on flexible and innovative solutions centred around each student’s needs.

It offers modern and fully equipped rehearsal and performance spaces right at the heart of Málaga’s university quarter.

Sala María Cristina – UniCaja

The Unicaja María Cristina Concert Hall is a concert hall that forms part of what was formerly the Franciscan convent of San Luis el Real. The hall has a seating capacity of 364.

It is housed in a 15th-century building that was secularized in the 19th century. Later, it served as the Artistic and Literary Lyceum of Málaga and hosted concerts by the Philharmonic Society until Eduardo Ocón Rivas spearheaded the creation of the Royal María Cristina Conservatory in this building. After the conservatory relocated, the building was abandoned and fell into ruin until 1975, when it was acquired by the Ronda Savings Bank (now Unicaja) for restoration. It was reopened to the public in 2009 as a music hall.

The Unicaja Social Welfare Foundation grants the use of the Hall to the Malaga Philharmonic Society, which, in addition to being extraordinarily beautiful, is recognized in musical circles throughout Europe as one of the halls with the best acoustics.
